The garden commemorate the centenary of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landing at Gallipoli and those who served in World War One. The individual plaques in the garden commemorate people from the district who served in World War One and contain a brief history of their service.

Funding of $5965 was received in 2014 through the ANZAC Centenary Grants Program for the establishment of the garden.
