The monument and the points lever alongside were installed by Historic Victoria Park Inc to commemorate the men and women who worked at Victoria Park Station, and four Station Masters, Misters Flood, Blakeley, Chopping and Pike.

The original plaque was stolen, and new plaque was added by a person who is unknown, and it now only lists stationmaster Donald Pike.
