Percy J. Pratt of Geelong near this spot set an Australian record of 1 hour 35 m minutes on Sunday, September, 21st, 1930 flying a Zoegling primary glider built by himself.
Right Side Inscription
Sir Charles Kingsford Smith had his first glide off the beach south of here on March 5th, 1932. The Warrnambool and Koroit Gliding Club operated from here in the years 1930-1936
