This plaque commemorates an event in connection with the Centenary of Reticulated Water Supply to Geelong and District
1874 - 1974
And marks the site where on 11th April, 1974 the Hon. R. J. Hamer, E.D., M.P., Premier of Victoria released from the She-Oaks - Montpelior Pipeline into the Geelong System water from the gathering grounds of the Bungal Dam on the Western Moorabool River between Buninyong, Lal Lal and Warrenheip. Thus completing a project envisaged by the Victorian Parliament in 1858.
