The grave commemorates cropduster pilot, Alan John McNaughton who was accidentally killed on the 16th February 1970.
Alan McNaughton was the first aerial supersphosphate spreader in the District and he flew out of this airstrip over the surrounding country. He was accidentally killed when his aeroplane crashed. The accident report says the cause of the accident could not be determined.
Note: This grave is on private property. The land-owner informed us that Alan McNaughton's sons and family visit occasionally to tend the grave.
