Smoky Bay Progress Association has erected this Crows Nest in memorial to all those that have lost their loves at sea in the waters of Smoky Bay
Austral Eagle
This Crows Nest was originally of the fishing vessel "Austral Eagle"
Austral Eagle was built in 1978 for David (Joe) Bec in Ballina NSW by Bob Mc Laren

The boat was built for crayfishing and shark fishing in the Great Australian Bight from Kangaroo Island SA to Esperance WA
This crows nest was donated to the District council of Ceduna by Dino Retsas who owned the vessel from 1985 to 2007
1971 Barry Salmon
Died as a result of an explosion and a boat at Smoky Bay on 23 / 6 / 1971, the 27 year old tried to swim ashore.
