The seat commemorates Arthur Mobsby who drowned in December 1905.
About 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon a school boy named Arthur Mobsby, 11, son of Mr. H. W. Mobsby, the well known photographer to the Agricultural Department was drowned in a lagoon at Indooroopilly.The lad had climbed a tree overhanging the lagoon, when he lost his balance and fell into a depth of 15 feet of water. The body was recovered about half an hour later by a young man named Pratt, and taken to the deceased's residence. Inspector White was informed of the occurrence. The deceased's father is at present in Sydney, having gone south to take charge of the Queensland agricultural exhibit at the A.N.A. Exhibition in Sydney.
