The monument commemorates Leslie (Les) John Prendergast who was killed in a car crash in 2015. The driver of the other vehicle was charged with dangerous driving causing death.
A 45-year-old Kumbia man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court next month charged with dangerous driving causing death following a fatal crash on the Bunya Highway earlier this year.
The incident occurred on February 23 when a blue Jeep Cherokee and an Isuzu truck collided about 4km south of Kumbia. The driver of the Jeep, Leslie John Prendergast, 65, from Bell, was killed instantly in the crash.
Police investigations resulted in the Kumbia man being charged on June 22.
