The peace rose commemorates Cecil John Stubs who was accidentally killed in March 1971. Cecil Stubs was the 7 year old son the Reverend Alan Stubs.

This Peace Rose was planted in May 1971 in memory of Cecil John Stubs, accidentally killed on Sunday 14 March 1971.

Cecil was the 7 year old son of the Rev. Alan Stubs, Minister of St. John`s and Mrs Esther Stubs.
