Sue spent her childhood in the Riverland, attending local Primary Schools and also Glossop High School, where she was an active senior leader.  She enjoyed the company and also skiing on Lake Bonney with members of the Barmera Water Ski Club.

Sue`s love of sport took her to Adelaide to become a Physical Education Teacher.  She was popular with Staff and Students at Elizabeth High School and, later, at Willunga High School, where there is a memento to her.

Her talent in the Women`s Slalom event finally won her a World Record at the World Championships in London in 1981.

                                        Achievements
• Won 13 Open Women’s Australian Titles - consisting of 9 slalom titles, 2 Trick Titles and 2 Overall Titles
• Represented Australia at 5 World Championships – winning 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze Medals in slalom
• Set a World Record in Slalom of 1.5 buoys at 11.25 metres in 1981
• Represented Australia in 4 Asia Pacific Championships - winning 4 Gold, 9 Silver and 3 Bronze
• Held the Australian Woman’s Slalom Record from 1974 until 1990
• Won the Moomba Masters Woman’s Slalom Title 6 times – leading to the presentation of a trophy each year, named in her honour
• Represented S.A. 15 times at the Australian Championships and was Women’s State Champion on 11 occasions
• Was S.A. Sportswoman of the Year in 1971 and on March 12th 2011
• Sue was inducted into the Australian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation Hall of Fame
