The stained glass window commemorates George and his wife Agnes Tweddle, who were pioneer settlers of the district and members of the church. George, who died in 1930, was a former churchwarden. 

The death has occurred of Mr George Tweddle, of Green Park, Gisborne. Mr Tweddle had been a resident of the district for 70 years and he was known throughout the State as a grazier and breeder of Shorthorn cattle. He had exhibited at the Royal Show for 50 years, and he had attended 58 successive shows. He was a brother of Messrs Joseph Tweddle (Numurkah) and Robert Tweddle (Queensland). He is survived by his wife. The funeral took place at Gisborne cemetery.
