Private John IngramPrint Page
The fence at the front of the church commemorates John Ingram who died of wounds at Rouen in France in 1916 during World War One. John Ingram bequeathed £80 to St John's Church and a similar amount to the Presbyterian church.
Another bereavement has fallen to Landsborough, in this case one of our local soldiers, Private John Ingram, who met his death on the field of honor, the result of wounds. The deceased soldier has a brother on active service. Out of respect the flag at the school was flown at half mast.
The Ararat Advertiser, 16 December 1916.
