Captain John Biggsley Print Page
Sundial commemorates Captain John Charles Biggsley who served in World War One. The memorial was erected by his fellow comrades and unveiled on the 19th September 1937 by the Mayor of Camberwell, Councillor W.R. Warner who accepted the memorial on behalf of the citizens of Camberwell from Colonel S.G.Savige, Brigadier of the 10th Infantry Brigade.
Captain Biggsley served with the 8th Battalion A.I.F. in France and was twice wounded. From 1920 until his death in 1934, he was attached to the 24th Battalion, Kooyong Regiment.
