The plaque commemorates Private Michael Sukmanowsky who was accidentally killed during the Vietnam War in September 1968.
Michael, 21, was from West Germany and was working as a clerk in the South Australian railways when called up on October 5, 1967. He was posted to 1ARU and was killed on September 21, 1968 when a claymore mine accidentally detonated.
