The monument at the Robinswood Homestead commemorates Lieutenant George Robin Cuttle, M.C. who was killed in action on France in May 1918 during World War One. The monument also commemorates refurbishment and the re-opening of the homestead on the 8th November 1980.
The town of Robinvale and the homestead were named after George Robin Cuttle whose family farmed in the area. He had joined the Royal Flying Corps (via the British Army) as an observer gunner and was killed when his 49 Squadron DH9, C6094, was shot down on May 9th, 1918 over France.
