The fountain erected by public subscription commemorates Doctor Gordon Morrisey for his services as a medical practitioner to the community for almost fifty years.

Doctor Morrissey was a private general medical practitioner in Ingham and Superintendent of Ingham Hospital for a period of almost 50 years.

This feature was erected in 1973 by the residents of the Herbert River District

In grateful memory of Dr. Gordon Morrissey, O.B.E. who, for a period of almost fifty years prior to his death in Ingham, on 8th. March 1970 rendered outstanding service to the sick, to charity, and to the community in general, not only in his profession of medicine, but also as a guide, philospher and friend.
