Front Inscription

John Prince, a British merchant seaman, arrived in Australia in the late 1800s and went to establish what was to become a substantial enterprise.

It was a small cottage on this site in 1905 that the fledling laundry was born.

The determination of John Prince and a further three family generations transformed a local washing and ironing service into a state-of-the-art laundering and dry cleaning company.

This sculpture is a monument to the significant contribution that the Prince family made to the Kingston community over the generations both in employing local people for their civic service.

This plaque was unveiled by the Mayor of Kingston, Cr. Elizabeth Larking
