Kal Ma Kuta Memorial Inscription

The monument commemorates the aboriginal woman, Kal-Ma-Kuta who was also known as Mrs Alma Turner.
Kal-Ma-Kuta was a member of the Undanbi clan who lived along both sides of the Pumicestone Passage. She was married to Fred Turner an oyster fishermen and had 7 children. She adopted the name Alma and was known as Mrs Alma Turner. She lived at Turners Camp in the area from 1874 until she passed away in 1897.
