The plaque commemorates the former Shire Clerk of Calliope Shire Council, Bob Smith for his services to the community. Bob saw the opportunity to regenerate the area by planting trees in 1988.

Source: MAIn recognition of Bob Smith, former Shire Clerk of Calliope Shire Council, for his dedication to our community.
In 1988 Bob saw the opportunity to regenerate this space, planting 360 native trees, creating this beautiful natural habitat for all to share.
