Two anchors with a plaque commemorate the naming of Indented Head by Flinders and the site of Matthew Flinders camp in 1802. The monument was unveiled in 1974 during the celebrations to commemorate the bicentenary of Flinders birth in 1774.

Named this coast Indented Head & camped on it with a boat`s crew for the nights of 29 April & 1 May 1802 before crossing the channel from Point Richards to ascend the You Yangs & after his party`s return.
This monument was unveiled by Cr. J. G. Davies, J.P., President, Shire of Bellarine, at the Flinders Bi-Centenary Celebrations
