The plaque commemorates Keith Mugford who was the head teacher of the Pooraka Primary School in 1948 and 1949. Mr Mugford died suddenly in 1949.
Kapunda residents heard with regret that Mr. Keith Mugford had died suddenly at Pooraka, where he was in charge of the school. The late Mr. Mugford, who was only 52 years of age, was well known in Kapunda having been in charge of the Primary School some years ago.
