Fiona CootePrint Page
The Fiona`s Wish Rose Garden commemorates Fiona Coote A.M. for her contribution to society.
Fiona Coote was Australia's youngest heart transplant recipient when she underwent surgery at the age of 14 on 8 April 1984. While she was the fourth transplant recipient in Australia, she is only the second to survive for a significant period.
The Fiona`s Wish Rose was named in 2001 in honour of Fiona Coote, Australia’s youngest heart transplant patient, with part proceeds from the sale of the rose donated to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Fiona continues to be an ambassador for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, helping with fundraising efforts whenever she can.
