                       ROBINS LANE

This lane was named in honour of the late R.S.E. (Bob) Robins B.E.M. (1902 - 1991) and his wife, Aileen (nee Parish) whose substantial voluntary care of Koalas at Cleland Wildlife Park, between 1967 - 1991, was of international note.

The Robins family home and Flour Mill played a prominent role
in the Marrabel District.  The mill, which was operated by John H. and
Ellen M. Robins from the early 1880`s followed by twin sons,
Harry and Bob, closed in 1946.  It was demolished in 1974.

The Mill House was the home of the Robins` children ; Elizabeth, Bill,
Sam, Doris, Kathleen, Harry, Bob and Madge.

            This plaque was provided by
The National Parks Foundation of S.A.`s "Bob Robins Koala fund",
     the National Parks Heritage Committee ;
    and the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council.

         Unveiled on 8th November, 1997
