The gates at the recreation ground commemorate Mansfield Charles Lovelock who died in 1946. The original gates have been replaced.
Mansfield Lovelock was a local sportsman and chairman of the Willunga District Council. The Lovelocks were pioneers in the district.
Mrs. M. C. Lovelock this afternoon unveiled a tablet and Miss Judith Lovelock opened the new memorial gates at Aldinga Recreation Ground erected by residents in memory of Mansfield Charles Lovelock, who died on May 23, 1946, aged 46.
