A monument commemorates the returned soldiers and their families who settled on Gala Estate after World War Two. 

Soldier settlement refers to the occupation and settlement of land throughout parts of Australia by returning discharged soldiers under schemes administered by the State Governments after World Wars One and Two.

For Returned Servicemen Of WW2.
The Families Determination, Hard Work
And Fellowship Developed These Farms
And Contributed To The Prosperity Of
The District And Our Nation.
