The wall was built in 1999 to mark the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of Cooma as a village. It is an ongoing project of Cooma Main Streets Heritage Committee. The purpose of the wall is to allow individuals and organisations to proudly register the time they have spent in Cooma or on the Monaro.

Officially opened on 25 June 1999 by Councillor Bill Rushton 
Convenor Cooma Celebrations Committee.

Construction : by Lions Club of Cooma
