This cairn stands as a memorial to the early residents of the Pilton Station known to be buried at the cemetery located 230m north of this site. The assistance of Mrs S Murray in researching the historical details is acknowledged

This plaque was unveiled by Councillor Ann Collins the Mayor of Clifton Shire Council on 2 February, 2004.
The cemetery has no public access and assistance from the current owners of the surrounding land (E G, J C & J W Ranger) in maintaining the area is recognised.
