Beenleigh Centenary CairnPrint Page 
The cairn commemorates the centenary of the settlement of Beenleigh from 1864 to 1964. The cairn was relocated from its original site and was unveiled on the 23rd September 2018.
Beenleigh was first colonised in the 1860s, with the first permanent European settlement occurring by John Davy and Frank Gooding, who named their sugarcane plantation Beenleigh in memory of their family estate in Devonshire, England.

His Excellency Colonel the Honourable Sir Henry Abel Smith KCMG KCVO DSO 17th Governor of Queensland
After relocation, the cairn was unveiled on 23rd September 2018 by His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC 26th Governor of Queensland
