The headstones in the wall are those that could be salvaged. The Sexton's Hut, which is adjacent to the wall, undertook improvement works as part of the Memorial Wall Project.

MEMORIAL WALL
THIS WALL WAS ERECTED AS A TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY OF THE 611 FOUNDING SETTLERS AND INHABITANTS OF COONAMBLE AND DISTRICT WHO WERE INTERRED IN THE ORIGINAL CEMETERY WHICH OPENED IN 1869 AND CLOSED FOR PRESERVATION IN 1912.
HEADSTONES THAT HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE WALL WERE THOSE THAT COULD BE SALVAGED AND HAD WITHSTOOD THE RAVAGES OF TIME.
