Plaque:
Back O' Bourke Exhibition Centre
Opened 24th October 2009
Dedicated to the men women and children who live 'Outback,' the stories of their past and their vision for the future ...
Mayor Andrew Lewis The Hon Anthony Albanese MP
The Council of the Shire Of Bourke Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government
...But sling me a saddle on some good horse
Bred on Bilalie or Lila Springs,
With the Warrego mud in his mane, of course,
And the grass-feed green on his snaffle rings.
Over Bourke bridge at the dawn of day
Let me north where the red tracks run,
And blindfold yet I could find my way
Through Enngonia to Barringun.
W. Ogilvie, Back to the Border
