Henry Lawson Bicentennial ParkPrint Page 
The park was officially renamed in 2007 as Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park and commemorates the early pioneering days that Henry Lawson wrote about in many of his poems and stories.
Henry Lawson wrote "The Babes of Walloon" in 1891.

Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park
This park was officially renamed on Saturday 24 March 2007 by Peter Lawson - the great nephew of Australian literary icon - Henry Lawson
In 1891 Henry Lawson wrote the poem "The Babies of Walloon".
The renaming of the park is dedicated to the memory of those early pioneering days that Henry Lawson so much lived and wrote about.
