The Finnish Memorial Park was established by the Finnish cane cutter families that lived in the area during the times when cane was still cut at the Sunshine Coast.  The park was opened in 1997 and donated to the council for upkeep.

A sculpture is located in the park commemorating the migrants from Finland who settled in the Sunshine Coast area from 1896.  Plaques list the names of those who settled in the area,.
