This is the site of the former cemetery attached to St Francis Xavier's Church. The cemetery became overgrown when the church was dismantled and some headstones were moved here from the cemetery on Eastern Road.
The headstones are reminders of some of Geraldton`s earlier residents and notable events in the region, such as the outbreak of typhoid fever in the Murchison goldfields in 1895.
An Australian Bicentennial project with financial assistance from the State & Commonwealth governments.
