Pioneers of KentishPrint Page
The memorial commemorates the pioneers of Kentish.
The secretary of the Kentish Pioneer Memorial Committee (Mr. James Braid) has received a notification from the Prime Minister (Mr. J. A. Lyons) that he would be pleased to visit Sheffield on Sunday afternoon next for the purpose of unveiling the tablet containing the names of Kentish pioneers. The committee will make arrangements for the visit, and the ceremony will be held at 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. The cost of this memorial was about £100, and with about £95 already subscribed and a concert to be held it is hoped that the cost of the memorial will be fully subscribed before the unveiling ceremony on Sunday.
