Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hugh Sawrey Walk of FamePrint Page
The Hugh Sawrey Walk of Fame was commissioned after receiving Q150 funding from the Queensland State Government. The Sculptured Gateway depicting the horse Hugh so loved to paint with the rugged stockman on his back and the whip cutting up above his head, forms the actual entry to the gateway which leads to the new Kogan Community Centre.
The Q150 Community Funding Program gave Queenslanders the opportunity to celebrate and commemorate Queensland’s 150th anniversary. Q150 community grants were available for activities and projects that reflect the unique culture, heritage and aspirations of our diverse communities. In 2009, Queensland celebrated its 150th year.
