Peace And Prosperity Tree Print Page
The Peace and Prosperity Tree was planted in the Chinese Tribute Garden to commemorate the signing of a sister city relationship between the city of Lanzhou in China, and the Shire of Young in 1997. A marble pillar with Mandarin inscription was added to the garden in 2000 to further commemorate the relationship.
Sister cities are cooperative agreements between towns and cities, and politically distinct areas to promote cultural and commercial ties.
