A plaque commemorates the opening of the Redleaf Pool in 1941. The pool was renamed the Murray Rose Pool in 2012 after the Olympic swimmer.

The Premier, Mr. McKell, will open the Redleaf Pool, at Seven Shillings Beach, Double Bay, tomorrow, at 2.30. The pool, which is shark-proof, has been constructed by the Woollahra Council, the Redleaf property, which included part of the beach, having been purchased by the council some time ago. A carnival, in aid of the Woollahra Patriotic fund, will be held tomorrow, and the events will include swimming, diving, water polo, physical culture, and a demonstration of life-saving.
