The 6MD RACT Foundation Stone
This stone unveiled on 30 May 1987 by Colonel R. P. Beesley, AM Commander 6th Military District, commemorates the founding of the Royal Australian Corps of Transport (RACT) on 1 June 1973 by amalgamation of the transportation services of the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) with the road transport and air supply elements of the Royal Australian Army Service Corps (RAASC) formerly the Australian Army Service Corps.
