Remembering our past
Moura Miners` Memorial
The Moura Miners` Memorial is dedicated to all those who have lost their lives on the Moura - Kianga coalfields and also to their families, friends and workmates; the survivors and their families who faced a difficult road to recovery and the many people in our community still struggling to cope with the enormity of the disasters.
The Memorial is a contemporary industrial design subtly indicative of a miner`s helmet, underground shaft entry and terrace open-cut ; with a centre podium featuring structures representing a miner`s helmet.
