The monument commemorates the local Council, the voluntary workers and the community for their efforts in constructing a levee bank which prevented Cunnamulla from flooding in April 1990.

Levy (sic) Bank Which Saved The Town From Flooding.
This Plaque Expresses The Gratitude Of The Business Houses
Of Cunnamulla Who Have Contributed To The Laying
                           Of This Memorial.
