The plaque unveiled on the wall of the Northern Plaza at Suncorp Stadium near the Wally Lewis statue commemorates 719 players who represented Queensland in Rugby League prior to 1980 when the State of Origin was introduced.
The plaque showcases players who have represented Queensland since 1908 and does not include players who have represented Queensland solely in the State of Origin arena. Their names are already displayed on the walkway at the northern end of the Stadium.
