The plaque commemorates Community Cricket Week, Randwick Petersham Cricket XI and the Ireland Cricket Team.
On the 6th of February 2015, the Randwick Petersham cricket team played the Ireland cricket team prior to the start of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. In attendance at the unveiling of the plaque were :
- Mike Whitney - President, Randwick Petersham Cricket
- Joe Doherty - President, Cricket Ireland
- Roy Torrens - Cricket Ireland Team Manager
- The Honourable Matt Thistlethwaite MP - Member for Kingsford Smith
- Ms Jane Connolly - Consul General of Ireland
- Ambassador of Ireland in His Excellency Noel White
- A representative from Tourism Ireland
