The stained glass window commemorates the centenary of the establishment of Wesleyan Methodism in Brighton in 1841 and honours the church pioneers.
The centenary of the laying of the foundation stone of the New-street Brighton Methodist Church will be celebrated next Sunday with special services. It was the first Methodist church to be built in Brighton. The stone was laid on April 16, 1845. In 1854. however, it was found necessary to erect a larger building, the present structure.
