The plaque recognises and appreciates the many people who made the restoration of the Basilica possible between 1996 and 2004.
The bronze coat of arms aabove the doors of the Basilica was funded through the estate of Sheila Maguire and was blessed on the Feast of Mary Queen of Angels on the 2nd August 2005.

The bronze Vatican Coat-of -Arms sculpture above the doors of this Basilica was crafted by Francis and Joseph Gatt (Anpas Pty.Ltd), and was blessed on the Feast of Mary Queen of the Angels on the 2nd August 2005.
The sculpture was funded from the Estate of Parishioner Sheila Maguire R.I.P. (17th May 2005) whose generosity represents the thousands of parishioners of St Mary's who have supported the building and maintenance of the Basilica through their contributions, large and small, over 150 years.
