The tree commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the War Widow`s Guild, the work of its founder, Jessie Mary Vasey, O.B.E., C.B.E., and all war widows.
The Guild was established in 1945 in Victoria by Mrs Jessie Mary Vasey, widow of Major General George Vasey who was killed en route to New Guinea during World War Two.
