SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERING
With 'supporting hands' reaching towards the waves of the Georges River, this monument represents the great volunteer spirit in the City of Bankstown.
Constructed in 2001, the United Nations International Year of Volunteers, it stands as a permanent tribute to all volunteers who give their time selflessly for the benefit of others. Volunteering is the foundation upon which strong, harmonious communities are built. Bankstown is indebted to all who have contributed by volunteering across all levels of society.
Officially dedicated by the Mayor of Bankstown, Councillor
