The plaque commemorates the centenary of the Tenterfield Court House from 1885 to 1985.
Tenterfield Courthouse was designed by Colonial Architect James Barnet and constructed in 1885. The builders were T and J McGauran. Major additions were made to the building in 1911, designed by Government Architect Walter Liberty Vernon.Tenterfield Courthouse replaced an earlier Barnet-designed courthouse built in 1864.
