The "Mutt" Memorial was donated by the Museum of Tropical Queensland in recognition of numerous dinosaur fossils which have been taken from the area.

 Officially opened by the Hon. Bob Gibbs MLA Minister for Tourism, Sport and Racing

"Mutt" is a replica of the Muttaburrasaurus Langdoni herbivore that roamed the shores of the historic inland sea, where modern day Hughenden township now sits.

Numerous fossil finds of the Muttaburrasaurus have been found around Hughenden and "Mutt" was donated by the Museum  of Tropical Queensland in recognition of the numerous dinosaur fossils that have been taken away from the area.
