The tree planting ceremony and plaque commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War Two. 

"Australia Remembers, 1945 - 1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.

     Tree Planting Ceremony
This plaque was officially unveiled by
The Hon. Robert Tickner MP - Federal Member for Hughes 
        together with 
Councillor Lorraine Rodden, Mayor, Sutherland Shire Council.
In the presence of members of the Walsh family, two of which are depicted on the Australia Remembers logo, and who resided in the Sutherland Shire from 1932 until the early 1950s.
Lakewood City Reserve, Bonnet Bay
Saturday 11th November, 1995.
