Wentworth District Roll of HonourPrint Page 
The wooden honour roll commemorates those from the Wentworth District who served in World War Two.
It was made by a former World War Two German internee, Max-Otto Schunemann. He was born in Germany in 1882, and did an apprenticeship a cabinet maker. He was sent as a trade teacher to Iran as part of a German mission and he lived there from 1906 to 1918.
At the start of World War One, he was sent back to Germany, but returned to Iran in 1924 where he built cotton factories. He was interred in 1941 and sent to Adelaide. He started woodwork again in the Adelaide interment camp and after his release in 1946 settled in Wentworth. He designed and made the honour roll during his time in Wentworth
